"The following is added to the definition of loss:

Loss does not include any reduction in the value of any vehicle...after it has been repaired, as compared to its value before it was damaged."

Time to find a new insurance company!!

I am glad I just left State Farm. I guess you could always hire and lawyer and file suit if you had to.

I also use SF for everything. This will not go into effect until Feb 2004, which is not that far off.

Yes, they have to notify you. Doesn't mean it won't be in really small print that's hard to see!

States that have auto insurance policy language that "excludes" diminished car-value payments:

Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Idoho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

I believe that there were 5 more states added since this list was compiled.
