We had an opportunity to go and tour a really great car storage facility today. Aside from the storage facilities themselves, the place is kind of a basic "country club for car guys". With a great rec-room, racing simulators, showers/locker-room, board room for meetings, a lift for member use, the place had a great feel to it.

They offer month-to-month storage or 1,2,3 year contracts (probably longer if you want them).

Viper turnout was really good with around 14 cars in attendance (rough guess).

Here are some pictures of the day!

O.K. now that is what I wanted my new dealership to look like. Maa W.O.W can I say that again W.O.W. Can you ask the investor/owner if he would contact me about replcating the same thing here in Virginia. My little 4K square feet feels like a bathroom in this place.
O.K. now it means work harder, and find someone who wants to help me build that kind of empire. Again I am in awe, it is every car ****** dream house. Sorry I missed the visit, I would be up for a private visit as I am always amazed with other individuals passions that follow after mine. Thanks for the photos, can stay lot's of work to do to get my indoor car wash in and bowling alley construction under way.

A little history on the building...the owner of the company has owned the building for years. It's a warehouse that used to act as a distribution facility for a paper company. The owner kept a personal car there, then his dad asked if he could keep a car then, then a friend of his dad...then he got the idea that their could be a business opportunity in it. He's the nicest guy who is a car guy in the truest sense. He owns the Testarossa, the Jag E-type and several of the Porsche 911S's in the facility.

I really wish there was a place like his in my more immediate area, it would be a great place to just "hang out" at, tinker with the car, etc and I think it has amazing potential, storage facilities aside.

Kelly I checked out their site but don't see a fee schedule. What does a 1 year membership cost? It's temperature controlled but most everyone was wearing coats. What is the temp range?

The fee schedule is as follows:

Car storage by itself on a month-by-month basis is $200/month. This does not include a membership to the facilities, it's for car storage and tending only.

If you sign an annual (or multi-year) contract, it's $175/month and you get free membership to use all of the facilities for the year.

If you just want membership to enjoy the club facilities, it's $300 annually.

Oh sorry Rick...To answer your last question about the temperature, he said he tries to keep it between 60 and 65 in the winter. No mention of summertime that I recall, but the new ceiling mount units he's installing do both heating and cooling and look pretty beefy.

YES!!! THAT is the analogy I was looking for. Imagine, you bring your car in a couple hours before the live telecast of a good race. You wash and detail your car in the detail bay, maybe put the car up on the lift to change the oil, then you have time to wash up or even shower and change in the locker room in time to order a pizza and crash on the couches and watch the race (or whatever) with a couple other folks...too cool.
