Maintaining Battery Tender
I have mine hooked into the terminals under the hood with the quick connect hanging just inside the gill. I just reach in (after the engine cools) and hook it up. Been doing this for 7 years with no problems.- Peter A

Driving cross country in a Viper!
Do it! Drove from Atlanta to Las Vegas and back for VOI #?. Was great fun except for the lack of cruise control which left my right leg stiff and sore at the end of each day.- Peter A

Minor Oil Leak + Long Trip = ??? Opinions please
I would just take the trip. I have read too many horror stories on this site regarding simple repairs that took weeks because parts took a long time to have delivered. Changing oil made easy.
I suggest you add the step of filling the new oil filter with fresh oil before you install it. This will reduce the time it takes for the engine to fill the system and build oil pressure.- Peter A

Rear axle fluid.
I purchased the rear end fluid and friction modifier at the local Dodge dealer. Very expensive. Changing it required a turkey baster some plastic tubing and a drain pan.
