Crab Feast Cruise - Saturday June 5th

Biff, I'll be bringing the kids (now 5 and 7). They always have a good time at the event. I haven't made the call on wheter to drive the viper yet though. Since we have 4 going, we'll have to take the other car no matter what. See you there

    OT: Direcway Satellite For Business

It depends what you need to do. Direcway has pretty good throughput (1Mb/s + at times), but has a high latency (delay) as Joe117 mentioned. The problem is that the satellite is relatively far away. Geosynchronous orbit is like 22,000 miles in space. When you access the internet, the packet...

Anyone done emissions test in MD?

I took the test last summer, and all they did was stick a DRB tool on my car and check for any failure codes. They didn't put it on a dyno, or check any tailpipe emissions. Mine was basically stock at that point, but had a corsa cat back.

    Optima Yellow Top?

The red top is the one for typical car use. I think yellow top is a deep cycle, as you would use in a boat. I just put an Optima red top model 7535 in my 97 GTS last weekend, and it fit fine. It's about .2" shorter, and has less CCA than the larger red top, but the specs meet the viper service...

    Optima Battery question

Well, I decided to give it a try. I tried a newer smaller Optima, model 7535. It's about 0.2" smaller than the older one. It still exceeds the viper manual electrical specs. It fit in, and had about 1/4 inch clearance. I think the larger one would have probably fit in mine. This was for a...

    PocketPC Viper game

Just saw this Viper game for the Pocket PC. I'm not sure what PDAs it runs on, but it seems to run fine on my Ipaq 2215. There's a free preview, and $18 to register. You can get info and download it from GTS Racing

SmarTire / V1 remote display mounting ideas?

I mounted my V1 in the pocket in the headliner, and put the remote in the ashtray. The ashtray needs a little cutting on the bottom to make the remote fit, but it does go in nicely, and the lid closes fine. I ran the power cord under the center tunnel, up the B Pillar, and over the headliner...

stuck in the midddler of my shifter install, HELP please!

The only thing you need to do with that black piece is chuck it, or put it on a shelf for posterity. Rich's piece screws in where the one came out. Or are you having trouble removing that part from the car?

Awesome vendor service! + ? about extended Oxygen sensor

? about extended Oxygen sensor Resurecting an old thread... Anyone know the part number for the Neon O2 sensor? Any other newer or creative solutions? A search here shows that some people claim impedence problems with extending a wire. That's hard to believe. 18" of wire couldn't add that...

    Heres a White SRT

So, I just saw the new vca raffle flyer at the zone event. It says that the raffle car is "the first viper race yellow srt-10" off the line. Does that imply that there are more yellow ones coming? I don't have any inside info, but it looks that way to me. It also says the raffle car has...

    Which is louder?

Didn't post this in the performance section, because this is a poser (sp?)question. I hacked my cats off, and it sounded great. It was stinky and loud, but did sound killer. Neighbors were not impressed though, especially at me leaving at 4:30 am to go to the zone rendezvous. The test-pipe...

How many of you are using Dex-Cool?

Where's Tom Hayden when you need him? He's a coolant guy when he's not autocrossing.

How do I get the old shifter off???

Push the leather boot down far enough that you can see the shifter's nut, and one below it. The trick is to lower the nut below the shifter (really tightening it down). You don't have to move it very far. Just a quarter turn or so. That allows you to just unscrew your shifter. Screw the new...

    PA caravan to Englishtown?

Where's Lancaster? I have a faint idea of where Pennsylvania is, but no clue on Lancaster. I think we'll have a few people driving up 95 and the NJ turnpike early Friday Morning. If you want, we can figure out a good place to meet along the way. Are people in Lancaster allowed to drive cars...

    cat "test pipe"

Re: \"test pipe\" Total cost for two 25" pieces of pipe, and two clamps was about $30. It was pretty easy to do. For a 97, or your 96, you won't need the simms. They are only needed for OBDIII cars. I haven't really driven that much on it yet, since it has rained almost every day for the...

    Englishtown

I'm going for Friday and Saturday. I'll have to leave early Sunday morning. Saturday will be the day with the most action. Friday will be the day with the least amount of people there, and the most track time. I'm going to try and drive up there early Friday morning. I'll be driving through...

Key Fob / Remote replacement....ours is the world's ugliest

Re: Key Fob / Remote replacement....ours is the world\'s ugliest I think I got it from a JonB at Parts Rack. It's been a while. I don't think the middle one is available. Programming is easily (5 minute job) done at home. A quick search here for fob or alarm should come up with a few hits...

Key Fob / Remote replacement....ours is the world's ugliest

Re: Key Fob / Remote replacement....ours is the world\'s ugliest It is big and ugly. I broke one of mine, and replaced it with a newer "pocket sized" model. I think it was about $40. Not sure that putting it in a metal case would be a good idea. That would make a Faraday Cage, and would...

    Sidesill heatshield glue?

Thanks. I guess I'll just wedge it in there. I don't think it could make much of a noise anyway, since it seems pretty soft.

    Sidesill heatshield glue?

One of my sidesill heatshields is loose. It looks like it was originally epoxied in. I'd like to glue it back to keep it from rattling around. Does anyone know what kind of expoxy would be good for this? Would my old favorite, JB Weld work there? Does it get hot on the backside of the...

New owner... Two ?'s -- Idle speed and Remote Programming

Re: New owner... Two ?\'s -- Idle speed and Remote Programming To reprogram the alarm to accept new fobs: Ground the green wire under the dash near where your left knee would be.
