    Auto A/C diagnostic equipment

The lower the micron the 'better', but either one of those will work FINE.

    Auto A/C diagnostic equipment

In a car, the 1.5 CFM unit is fine. You evacuate the system for a minimum of half a hour, close the gauges off, and see if it holds vaccum. If it holds vaccum without dropping off, you can charge it. I got my pump off ebay. Search "Robinair 15600". A lot of pump for the money. I can give you...

    Auto A/C diagnostic equipment

You will see vaccum pumps advertized that hook up to your air compressor, but they are NOT able to pull the required vaccum needed. Check your local parts stores-Autozone has been known to rent them. If you do rent one, purchanse a oil change for it. Fresh oil in it is critical to pulling a good...

    Trouble Breaking Crankshaft Bolt Loose

Get a long breaker bar, pull the plug wires, and wedge the breaker bar against the ground, and bump the starter. Make sure the breaker bar is wedged against the ground on the driver side of the car. End thread.

    Auto A/C diagnostic equipment

Chuck, the correct thing to do now is- 1) Recover remaining R134. 2) Evacuate the system. 3) Recharge with proper quanity of R134 and dye. 4) Operate the system, and check for leaks. I remember reading that the low side shrader valve is a common point for the Viper's to leak? May be...

    Auto A/C diagnostic equipment

Yep, the 'DIY death kits' are junk, and if a professional detects 'stop leak' in the system, there is a good chance they will refuse you service (stop leak can clog there expensive servicing equipment).

A good set of A/C pressure gauges is where you should start, and they are available from many places. I suggest www.ackits.net because they have a great help forum and the prices are excellent!

Look what I found on EBAY - 2001 Dodge Viper GTS with only 10 Miles

His racing career did not have such a great record on the Tucson streets...:)

    AC Problem

I brought up 'death kits' and 'sealers' because most 'ac recharge kits' include R134A which contains sealers. The sealer works by hardening when it contacts air(which is introduced into the system by the leak point). Great, it seals the leak, but it will also seal any other small 'holes' in the...

    AC Problem

Tom 'dissed' me first. I know he is a smart guy, but he is oviously not a experienced AC tech, I have seem him post before this thread about 'recharging' AC and it was as apparent then as it is now. One thing you are correct about though is the size of my testicals. I don't give a flying fu(k...

    AC Problem

Recharge cans are fine, as long as they do not have sealer in them. For info on sealer, you can go to the forum I mentioned and just search 'sealer' or post a thread about it. A AC system may work without correctly charging it(with knowing freon weights and high/low pressures), but it will not...

    AC Problem

We call them 'death kits' because they often claim they will allow you to switch from R12 from R134A with just changing the fittings and recharging. Also because they often include 'stop leak' which just harms your system. Maybe you don't know as much as you think you do? Far fetched, I know..
  14. T

    AC Problem

You CANNOT correctly charge a AC system by pressure(espically the low pressure that the death kit tells you). AC systems are charged be WEIGHT. Not knowing the AMOUNT of freon in the system(only known by WEIGHING) can cause havoc on the system. The only proper way to charge a system is to...

    AC Problem

There is so much wrong info in this post about AC I don't know where to start. You guys need to visit the forums at www.ackits.net for some basic AC knowledge. For starters, you CANNOT correctly charge the AC with one of those Walmart 'death kits'!! Come over to the ac forums and learn why..

Forget what you 'leared' here and go to www.autoacforum.com and get some expert from the pros.

    Sad day at the track

If this is the most depressed you have felt in decades, you should consider yourself VERY lucky... You're racing a street car around a track. [******] is going to break.

What can be used to clean carbon build up in cylinders?

A product called 'Seafoam' works wonders for this. Do a Google search. It's avaiable from most NAPA stores.

    Best wideband 02 gauge

You guys do realize that if you use a wideband with a Bosch sensor, that leaded race fuel will kill it almost instantly? A unit that uses a NTK sensor(like the FJO) will handle leaded fuel MUCH better. I've actually never heard of a fuel related sensor failure with a NTK sensor.

    Best wideband 02 gauge

FJO is the best brand wideband on the market, bar none.

THE NEW Z06 IS FASTER THAN THE VIPER

LOL i think i remember you from before, always defending the Viper when it was compared against Supra's and such. My post was not a personal attack against anyone on this forum but i see that your reply is one against me. We could arrange a little race between your big bad Viper and my little 4...
