    Where does this weatherstripping go?

kind of looks like the weatherstripping for the trunk on my '99 but it should be longer than 41" to go around the entire perimeter

Gremlins after dead battery, wiring experts or a WIZARD perhaps?

If you only get the P1494 code when the gas tank is low (and on a cold start) it may be that evap test pump is a little weak or you have a small evap line leak. When the tank is low on fuel it takes longer for the tank to pressurize to the test level and this can throw a code. My `99 has been...

Brake Fluid, How long should it last?

On the Gen 2's it looks like the LR is the furthest wheel from the reservoir (the rear T connector is near the RR wheel). Probably not that big a deal though...

end link boots not lasting very long

The anti-sway bar end link boots don't seem to last more than a few years for me. They tear and crack, looks like normal aging but just way too premature. I've replaced the front set twice and the rear set once. Is this normal for a '99? Are there better replacement endlinks available?

viper cut off while driving tonight.

Don't rule out the fuel pump. Mine behaved the same way, it would die, then start right up again. It was a connection that would intermittently go bad in the pump.

Replace front tires too?(for traction only)

I had the old PS's up front (no more than 2 years old) and new PS2's in back.

Replace front tires too?(for traction only)

I tried it and very quickly replaced the fronts...and the fronts weren't that old. The car was skittering all over the road with the slightest bump or rut.

part no. for a crank damper

I am going to replace my stock ('99 RT/10, 45k miles) crank damper with the ATI super damper. Is 917932E the correct part no.? Is it a direct replacement? Any other dampers worth looking at? Thanks in advance Bruce

Scott Devon and $5.5M Bid for Viper

The information on their site doesn't mention that this car is built on an ACR rolling chassis. That's the car that will be tested at the Ring this year. They currently have over 20 ACR's that will become their first model. I guess the original plan was to buy ACR's from Dodge and put their own...

Scott Devon and $5.5M Bid for Viper

There's a picture of the wind tunnel model of their car in my gallery at http://gallery.viperclub.org/data/500/test_model_A.jpg This one is without the rear wing. Supposedly they have been testing the real thing at Willow Springs

    fuel injector life expectancy

What's the typical life of a stock Viper injector? The engine is tumbling a bit around 2500 rpm and I am suspecting it might be an injector (I have eliminated all of the usual suspects..battery, plugs, wires, throttle body sync, reset ECU, fuel filter, etc.) I've got about 48,000 mi. on a stock...

1 more for the rumor mill

Has anyone heard of a guy by the name of Devon (or Devin) who is planning on coming out with a new car that will use the ACR frame and running gear? He's designing a completely new body with lower drag. My friend is doing some of the aero design work but he won't tell me much. The plan is for...

    New radiator problems!

For what it's worth. I had the anode cap from Roe and had a puking problem. The anode hangs from the cap by a long spring which allows the anode to touch the bottom of the tank. The anode got caught on a ridge in the bottom and it pulled the center valve open so it would puke when hot. I...

    Tire Question

I couldn't agree with JonB more. I put PS2's on the back and kept my PS's on the front. The car was all over the road on just the slightest roughness. Don't do it, but if you do you will quickly understand why not to.

Discount Tire here too. Patched and plugged my rear for free, didn't screw up the pressure sensor and treated me like a king.

Roe Fan Kit - Is it a battery killer?

Yes, run a parallel ground line with a switch (that will override the thermal switch and allow you to turn on the fan at will) and put a switch on the power line to the relay (that will turn off the system).

Roe Fan Kit - Is it a battery killer?

I'd recommend getting the timer or putting a kill switch on it. A hot day at the track drained my battery.

Gimme an easier way to check my overflow bottle

It's a pain in the *** to check the fluid level under certain conditions. Would someone please develop a simple kit with a light source that you could attach to the outside of the over flow bottle (by working through the access hole) and that would "T" in with the fog light, on that side of the...

What did I do wrong bleeding my brakes??

Everybody always says to start at the right rear brake but I noticed that on my Gen II the T connection is near the right rear so the longest fluid path is to the left rear brake. Maybe it's a little anal but shouldn't you start the bleeding at the left rear brake?
