My ACR will be there displayed in Building T. It was selected as an invitational car :yay: I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting the Viper failthful at the show!
I'm concerned that the length of plywood needed, besides being unwieldy to cart down to the end of the driveway, may flex and break at some point. What I really need is something that securely extends the slope of the existing curb to road interface. The existing slope is too steep.
I'm growing very tired of dragging wooden blocks out to the end of my driveway to ramp the ACR down without scraping the front air splitter. I'm sure this same problem exists with all Vipers. I contacted Race Ramps (No other Car Ramps compare! | Ramps for your Corvettes, Porsches, Vipers...
I was talking to the owner of a speciality Corvette used car dealership yesterday, and he mentioned that an as-new '08 Viper (not sure if coupe or vert or color) crossed the line at Manheim and sold for $58k. Can anyone confirm or deny that price?
Some idiot backed into my wife's car driver-side rear door and left a grapefruit-sized ding and took off (city parking - how bad to you have to be to parallel park and hit the side of the car you are parking behind ). Anyway, I had it professonally repaired, which included a repaint...
Finally got some down time to look back and enjoy some belated reading of auto rags. When I got to the Detroit IAS articles, I was definitely polarized by what I saw. No doubt that Simon Cox is the most prolific designer today (Cien and Converj - when can I buy??), while Freeman Thomas seems a...
I never had anything but trouble with the two new BMWs I've owned - a 330xi and an X5. Both were (and in the case of the '07 X5 - are) far inferior in the reliability category to any other manufacturer's vehicles I've owned, having made more service trips to the dealer than I care to count...
Tito - great post, but you missed the greatest cause of swirl marks and scratches...Number 1: idiot lot/wash boys on new car lots. I was just looking at a new '08 sitting on the lot that looked like it had 5 years of wear to the finish becuase the lot boy apparently never rinses his wash mitt...
Here you go. As noted, take your time...I did mine in two evenings. One to remove the sills and the exhaust, and the other to do the install. The worst part is putting the sills back on a half dozen times before you are satisfied with the fit of each one. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in this...
Having purchased an ACR last year, I say "thank goodness" they haven't discounted them. It sucks for all the guys who bought non-ACRs prior to Dodge dropping their shorts, as the value of every one of these cars has been drastically reduced in the market, and will be felt even in the used...
Wow - that's the last Viper I'd want to buy is an SRT Experience track car. I did things to the Experience Viper on the track that'd I'd consider grounds for being booted from the VCA, and therefore shall remain nameless. I'm not the only one, though :D
GTS Blue / Black stripes =...
Excellent shots of the color. I've had a heck of a time getting it right in pictures - and still haven't - kudos for getting it spot on! Beautiful car!
What a BS description... "Door dings are usually present on used vehicles, but not on this one" - I've seen 'em scratched and scraped, but never a door ding on a Viper! :lmao:
This dealer is obvisouly just fishing, and not really interested in selling the car...
The raffle items (save the ACR, of course!) just don't have me excited, either. Even thinking about it from a long-term perspective - ie. would a detonated 426 Hemi block from 1968 be worth a mint today - I come to the same conclusion - NO. To swipe a line from Siegfried on Get Smart -...
It may seem a little indignant considering I love the Viper, but I'm with gtsviper. Even with the EP++ discount on the SRT8 Challenger, it's still overpriced. I owned an SRT8 Superbee, which I always thought was down on power (a result of its weight and auto), and a pig off the line. At...
Based on pricing for the upcoming 1/2SS Camaro with similar HP rating (and better weight 3860 to 4170 - both still porkers), I wonder how many Challenger SRT8s will be finding homes once the incentive is off. It's a cool car, no doubt, but the pony wars are on again! :)
I asked the same question at the VOI10 Prefix tour. The answer was that striped cars get a painted wing (and I think the CF underneath is somehow slightly different), where as non-striped ACRs like mine get the painted end plates and naked :D CF.
XTREMDRM - I own one of the four sisters. It'd be nice to find where the other two are. It's a great, classic color but cameras don't seem to do it justice.
The Viper looks great - and since you said these pictures were just taken I'm doubly envious of the fact that you can actually drive your Viper too with that beautiful weather.
The deal with the ACR might be just that Dodge buids far fewer, has constrained them, and most are not spec cars ordered by dealers to floorplan. It may not necessarily be that they are moving that well...anybody have current '09 ACR order figures? The parts cost (at least replacement pricing)...
