Over the course of the next several months, I am planning on doing some modifications to my 98 GTS. I plan on installing a Corsa exhaust with high flow cats, a good set of headers, possibly Borla, ported and polished heads with larger valves, and 1.7 roller rockers. I am located in West Virginia and believe it or not we don't have a lot of aftermarket Viper tuners like Jason Heffner or Doug Levin close by and I don't want to pay to ship my car far away to get these things installed. I have a friend at work that is very knowledgeable about cars and has built several motors. We feel that together we can install these modifications. Assuming we install everything properly, won't we need to recalibrate the computer for maximum horsepower gains? How can we do this? Is there a standard upgrade module I can buy such as the VEC1 or does this have to be done with multiple runs on a dyno?

If that is the Mopar Computer, well, its not a good choice
for "computer updating". I beieve WV wants to optimize his setup after mods with dyno time. Possibly the VEC2 when available for n/a cars...or read the AEM threads.

After the mods are installed and if you have a pretty good grasp of how you want your fuel and timing modified, let me know and I will email you a form that you can fill out. Once filled out, send it back with your factory PCM and I will have it flashed to how you want it. Check out the westcoastviper.com site for more info.

Thanks guys for all the help. Jason, I was actually looking at the heads that WCV offers. I'm not in a hurry to do it right now. I'm thinking of doing this as a winter project. I'll be sure to keep you in mind when the time comes.
