He\'s back! (how & pics)

This is what happens when Vipering at 100 mph and suddenly a car pulls out on you with out looking and no indication.

Ouch.jpg

Luckily no person was too badly hurt. I did the honest thing and pleaded guilty to speeding, and took the punishment. But, the worst punishment of all was seeing my Beloved smashed up. Insurance wrote him off; not including extensive frame damage, parts alone estimate (UK Chrysler supplied) was £44000 / $33000.

Another blue / white coupe would never replace him, so over 7 months later (and despite nothing being problem free) here's some pics of him getting back on the road again. The snake and I are no longer garage-hermits!

When he passed his Ministry of transport test last week, I cried tears of joy, I was so relieved and happy to be able to drive him again. The only things I had to get done were frame jig / new front section weld on, windshield fitted, air-con gassed up and body respray to follow.

Thanks to all those who posted replies of help, supplied parts, gave support etc. And especially thanks to Joel, who started dating me and had to put up with all our times together spent rebuilding my Viper. Thanks too Neil for you fab grafix work.

"Beloved" lives.

And now you can sleep again.

Be safe and careful, the morons are out to kill us.....

Thanks for letting PartsRack play a 'role' in getting him rolling.

Nadine,it's hard to express our initial collective sorrow at the time of the your mishap, our subsequent feelings of hope based on your overwhelming committment, and the ECTASY shared by so MANY of your Viper Brothers and Sisters at the news of your VICTORY !!! We stand in awe and admiration...you HAVE to be the Viper-Owner-of-the-Year !!! Hope to see you at VOI.7 !!!!!

Nadine,

Wow I'm glad you and everyone is ok! I'm amazed you were able to
put your car back together! Congrats! I'm sure you feel much better seeing your Viper running and on the road again.

Be safe and enjoy.

Regards,

Steve

I love how you Brits always refer to your cars as Him.

Its the cultural interaction that make this site so cool so often.

That in an inspiration Nadine, it really is. I congratulate you on your stunning success in resurrecting a car you obviously love.

I think "Phoenix" sounds too much like a Pontiac though. Maybe something like Osiris or Lazareth... or maybe I need to put down my danm books for a few days...

Congrats on the resurrection!

Interesting two-tone look (blue car with black hood).

I haven't decided if I like the two tone or not yet.

So tell us, what made you go with black on blue? Didn't want the car to look exactly the way it did before? (

Looks almost like he did before! I know you've sweated blood and tears getting him back to life - cant wait to see what a good job you've done on Sunday. See you there.
