Yes, I am curious about this as well? Anyone have actual pictures of NEW Vipers being transported from the plant?

What about taking delivery at the factory? Is that an option and is it an event?

I'm not sure that I'll want to wait one week longer than is necessary!

CAAP Pickups are a BLAST, and FREE to VCA MEMBERS a I recall, another great member benefit. I have done 2 so far (and of course I was # 1 ever, Chris....guinea-pig you know)

There are some annoying tax and license consequences.....that usually shake out. ie you have to pay MI SALES TAX!

I believe that no CAAP pickups are being allowed til January.... I may be wrong on this point, and things do change..

It is important to note that not only are Vipers delivered enclosed, they are LOADED inside the ready-room! Fully enclosed till reaching your Dealer. Reliable trucks even transports Stripers enclosed to Prefix, just 30 minutes away. Other than the One Per Week PGI Quality-Evaluation car, which gets 20 miles put on it, you will likely receive a single-digit Odometer

Thank you Jon B for the reply. Speaking of VCA membership and factory delivery~which I would really enjoy both: If I am a previous Viper owner, current '08M5 owner, but have a deposit with Bill P. on an '08ACR, how do I go about this VCA membership?! :D Oh, I'm ready to become a member, I just don't have a VIN yet; as it is not yet in production

Please help me see the light!

Don't know about VCA membership, but as far as factory delivery, your dealer contacts Viper Headquarters and they set it up with CAAP. My dealer made the call to Kim a few days ago when my car was at E status--moving down the frame line.

Enclosed trailers only, as noted by many, but the Quality Check vehicle mention by Jon B needs to be verified. We have gotten many of these vehicles from the Plant with well over 30 miles on them ( the highest being 50 ) . Dealers are required to do a predelivery inspection on the vehicle , which involves a short test drive, so most Vipers should have 12-20 miles on them when you recieve them. A single digit vehicle usually means the Viper has not been checked out properly, and as noted , most will have more when they reach your door.
