Mopar Performance PCM?

I had a lenghty conversation with Tom Sessions about my lack of HP issue and he suggested upgrading the stock computer with the mopar performance version. I have a Vec2 waiting to be installed, but my car is experiencing surging. Since one of the solutions to the surging is to flash the PCM, I figured I'd kill two stones with one bird and just do the upgrade now.

Questions - Since googling isn't helping me research, where do I find the MoparPPCM and how much *should* they run? What advantages does the MPPCM have over the OEM unit?

Why not just have DC reprogram your pcm?

Didn't realize that was an option. I thought all the dealerships could do was reset the program, not alter it?

You didn't mention what sort of surging, but I can tell you that my car with the MP PCM tends to want to buck whenever cruising at 2000 RPM or so; obviously the effect is more strongly felt in the lower gears.

The original owner of my car put the MP PCM on the car and only did part of the mods it's designed to work with. As a result, the car runs rich all the time. The PCM is designed to have the MP 1.7 rocker arms, headers, MP exhaust, K&Ns and smooth tubes. When I bought my car it only had the exhaust, K&Ns and smooth tubes. I've since added Belanger headers and removed the cats, but I suspect the PCM is still missing the lower lift of the 1.7 RRs.

Anyway, it was suggested above to you that you have Dan Cragin at DC Performance reflash your stock PCM. Unless you have all the supporting mods for the Mopar Performance PCM I would suggest following this advice. In fact, even if you do have all the supporting mods, at least give Dan a call and chat with him about the reflash and what it can do for your car.

One great thing about my Mopar PCM is that as long as you have a decent throttle body synchro adjustment it does not idle hang. I also have a PCM that was flashed by an aftermarket vendor and although it makes a bit more power it idles hangs like all get out. Put in the Mopar and no hang.
