Well I have spent 5 weeks and about $3800 on a custom stereo system so far. Here's what I've done-

Pioneer Avic N2 in dash flip out CD/DVD/Nav with Backup camera
Memphis 1100W Amp
2 10" subs with custom black carpeted boxes

I am currently having a custom rack built with to house the amp, with either the Viper logo (Sneaky pete) or the ACR logo behind it, which will glow. Not sure which logo to go with, need to figure out quick though.

I had the Avic N2 backlight LEDs changed to orange to match the dash lights. Found a guy in Chesapeake VA that does AWESOME custom stereo work (Rich @ same day audio repair), I shipped him my stereo and faceplate and for $120 it switched all the LEDs out. Seems high, but these puppies are very difficult to take apart with breaking (many small pieces). Here is a link to his eBay store listing, tell him you want the same LEDs that he put in Jacob's Viper, he knows me well... he has done work for me on about 8 different radios... :) AVIC-N1, AVIC-N2, AVIC-N3 ILLUMINATION upgrade (BMW)++ - (eBay item 180184891671 end time Dec-06-07 06:30:42 PST)

Had a local shop do the stereo install and they are making the rack now. Using what little computer and stereo knowledge I have, I replaced the factory backgrounds with custom Viper backgrounds (there are two backgrounds on the Avic depending on where in the settings you happen to be). I kind of like the way it turned out so far. I will take more photos when the rack is done.

Super nice with the orange LEDs! I have an AVIC N1, didnt even think you could change the LEDs. At least the stock blue LEDs match my seats and center console. I have the steering wheel control that I never installed if you're interested in it, pm me. Also would be interested in finding out how you changed the background display image on your unit. I admit I haven't really played with it or taken the time to try and figure it out. Looks killer! Be sure to post pics once you get the rest of the work done.

How long does it take for your screen to fold out? Do you wait to back up until it shows up? I know the factory back up cams have a impatient time of 1 sec. I know I can't wait to sit there for the camera image to come up.
