In the new issue of motortrend they talk about the viper and CAFE with a chrysler rep, and he says the viper won't be affected by CAFE. Kinda already heard about this but I've never heard it from Chrysler.
Chysler SRT's Kipp Owen points out that, at the tiny volumes SRT products sell in, their impact on CAFE is minimal, and he has little doubt that , as his company's mainstream products march up the MPG scale, new technologies-like the CamInCam system that adds 90 horsepower and increases the fuel economy of the 2008 viper-will ensure niche products maintain a similarly discrete differential to the mainstream products and never drag CAFE down significantly.
