VOI 1 was held around the end of July 1994 in Detroit. They were more-or-less annual thru VOI 4. After that, the Regional meets started filling in between VOIs. I don't think that the word "Annual" has ever officially appeared next to "VOI."

Very said day today. One of our club members totaled his viper on the track. He is fine. This was one of 3 that were totaled today. One on they way to the track, one on the track and one leaving the track.

I will not posts pis of the wrecks out of respect right now. I'm sure some of their family members do not even know yet.

Thanks Cody! My first exposure to VOI was the St. Louis event when Chris Marshall also diligently posted pictures and commentary that allowed others to truly gain perspective on what the VOI experience is. Whether initiating a new member so that they will appreciate how great an opportunity VOI is and attend the next one, or allowing those of us that could not make it to still keep memories fresh and appreciate what we've missed...WE ALL ARE HAPPY THAT YOU'RE TAKING THE EFFORT!

The track is probably near dead-level. The shutdown area most likely is uphill.

As GTS Dean said, the track is level and shutdown goes up hill. Hot air, high elevation and slick track made for slow times. Best a stock SRT Coupe could run was about 13.0

The carts were fun. Had about 14hp, so they went pretty well. Cody smoked his group.

The instructor was injured slightly in the crash on the track. He had the skin taken off the tops of his toes down to the bone. The car basically T-boned the end of a concrete barrier on the transition from the high banked oval to the infield course.

One thing about Vegas is that the roads here are a lot slicker than we are used to back home. It looked like the car that wrecked going to the track spun on the onramp to the freeway and into a wall. The one that wrecked coming back apparently was T-Boned by another car.
