.....Based on second hand info and some speculation, I believe there was some problem with the SRT (not ACR) aero installs. I don't know if it was parts related or design (as in improper down force or lift) related, but (again I'm making an educated speculation) I believe that they've worked it out and those cars will begin moving within the next few days......Of course, I could be wrong.

CITY: Please call me to clarify the WRONG rumors above. "2nd hand info and speculation' ...... I think I know what may have started them, but the 'issues' are not a factor.

Here is a FACT: Because CAAP was closed for a planned, contract shutdown 7/4-7/20, Prefix was able to convince CAAP to keep the SHIPPING and RECEIVING dept open thru the shutdown. When I was there last week, ONE PERSON was at CAAP, and this allowed Prefix to catch up on backlog. CAAP is also down Aug 17-Sept 2, so Prefix should REALLY get caught up. Yes, CAAP will be quiet, but OPEN HOUSE for those attending VOI. Since the machines will be still, and Viper in stations, it will be an Up-Close tour. (sponsored by PartsRack) Hope To See U There

My brother called the 800 number from City Snake and was told he should have his ACR next week. I am going to hang tight on my order and hope to win the raffle at the same time. I might have two after all is said and done. One to destroy on the track and one to destroy on the track while the other is getting tires and brakes.[/QU

I also called the 800 number & although I am only in D-1 Status my Red/Black ACR is on the assembly line. So it might jump from D-1 to J overnight like what happened to a ACR order about a month ago as reported on the site.

Ain't that the truth. Seriously, I don't know how so many '08 buyers can deal with it. I've been biting my lip to keep "professional" with my comments...but this has not been a pleasant experience.

Know what you mean, it has been very tough at times, for me, especially around April/May when I found out that violet cars were being made, yet mine continued to remain in D status while others were in j status. It seems that overnight they started building mine as in early June at had been in D status for three months when it went D1. a week and a half later is was E then G, now it is in J and at prefix getting the aero group installed. Crazy how these things are built with seemingly no rhyme or reason. But thats life, and hopeful;ly sometime in the next month I will be driving mine and not waiting for it.:D

BTW, I understand that there are only about 40 SRT's (coupe and conv) being built with the factory aero package.

Has anyone who has an ACR on order discussed with anyone at Dodge concerning the possiblity of wanting an '09 acr instead of getting their '08 in sept or oct. of this year, or is Dodge saying that the '09 acr's will also have the same ridiculous building schedule as the '08 ACR's, meaning you won't get your '09 until fall of '09 ?

well..... some of the colors will not be available for '09, for one thing. I am sure that you could possibly cancel your order of an 08 and then order an 09, but why? to wait another year to get one??? sounds stupid to me, but, maybe you like the waiting game, and the ******** that comes with it. i just do not understand the logic. :dunno:

I've been going over the same "08 v. '09 decision for 3 months now. I set a date in my mind when I would no longer accept delivery on an '08 (in the calendar year '08). As far as I know, orders will probably begin for '09's in September or October. You need to consider how likely it is that you will be in the exact same place a year from now. If you pick one of the colors that are not the first to be made, it may be even worse.

Maybe some dealers can chime in, but it's a crap shoot as best as I can figure.

City, I think, at this point, you might as well ride it out. You certainly don't want to be in this very same situation this time next year.

Besides, the best things in life are worth waiting for.:D

I agree. Doesn't make any sence to cancel your 08 to get an 09. We don't know now but it may take as long to get an 09. I ordered my 08 Red Acr in Dec 07 & I probably will not get it until Sept-Oct., hopefully. Of course, it didn't help that they processed orders based on color & Red was started in late spring. Does anyone know if they are going to do this for 09? Also ACR production seemed to commence in the spring regardless of the color since this was a new model & needed a little for tweaking before production.

:2tu:!! What combo ACR did your brother get? Congrats!
Maybe City's car will be along shortly~~~~juli

Black with black/grey int. It will be at Watkins Glen in August.

It is so much nicer in person. Im not sure if its going to make my wait easier or worse. At least I can drive his to hold me over for a couple more months.

PERFECT combo~! Can't wait to see pics of it...what days in August will it be at Watkins Glen? I'd think this would tide you over, seeing as you can DRIVE his to hold you over~! CONGRATS to him...is he on these forums, or has he joined the VCA yet with his purchase? :2tu: ~juli

Thanks on the congrats to him! He isn’t on the forums or a VCA member. He is a great bro but not very sociable.

Last night taking it for my first ride the check engine light and throttle light came on and wouldn’t let me go past 2500rpm. Only 26 miles and its going back to the dealer. I hope its not a sign of things to come.

Hopefully this is but a glitch...your brother may not be very sociable, but when he's in that ACR::::::he'll have NO CHOICE~~~LOL! He will be attracting the very attention he may be avoiding! :omg: :2tu: If we knew when it'd be at Watkins Glen (is he racing it there?)...we MAY try to get there to see it...it's quite a distance for us to go...but we'd love to see an ACR in person! We won't even TALK to your brother if he prefers that ;););)! lol...good luck with the car, keep us posted? ~juli
