First time it's happened and I am at fault for trusting way too many people I guess. Live and learn. I hope it doesn't happen again. If it does, I will have to receive payment from everyone first before wires are sent out. Just takes a few to ruin it for the rest.

Too bad.

That *****... care to rat out who it is here? If every whiner can complain about a vendor, the vendors should have the right to complain about a deadbeat so other vendors know to accept everything COD from that person.

I hear ya ab, I sent out an "emergency" set of engine mounts and a trans mount overnight for someone in need and then they totally disappeared from the face of the earth. Things like this really does only hurt the good customers in the end. I would love to be able to post about this dead beat.

This only good thing is that this is the first time I've been snookered in 6 years here with Woodhouse so that's not a bad average I guess, overall we have a VERY trustworthy group in the Viper guys and gals.

Yes I agree 100%. I guess if I get ripped off once in a great while compared to the good people here it's part of doing business.

I am going to keep the person/company to myself. I like to treat everyone here who does business with me like you are my only customer, brother, sister..etc...I won't let this one ruin it for others right now. Business as usual. It just amazes me that some people can be like this. I go beyond the sale as many of you know and pride myself on that.

No worries. Sometimes I take it on the chin and just smile. I probably shouldn't have posted this.:dunno:

Please please. At least for other vendors sake at least tell Chris who it was. If it is a vca member I'm sure he would be all over it. I know I would be.

You should post the info just to warn other vendors who could have the same thing happen to them

I m glad you posted as it helps "spread the stress". Why not set up a pay pal act. and let us donate as we will, the token will help us all as we put up with that 2% who try to sink us all.

Go ahead and send a set of engine mounts and a trans mount to Armour Racing. :2tu: It's no emergency, but I will be needing them.

Ab, I understand your decision not to disclose the deadbeat. Let me guess, he/she sent cash in the mail? The sad thing is if that same person was unhappy with a product they bought from you, they would probably air it out all over the forum, including the company they were unhappy with.

So....... who is this deadbeat? :D

I've dealt with more than a few vendors here and have been suprised when they say "invoice is in the box, send a check when you get it". I like that :2tu:.
If it is a VCA member, maybe the regions president can get involved and clear it up. Possible misunderstanding??:dunno:

Hey AB
We need to get together sometime. You would enjoy seeing my gun collection. I suspect you might want to even borrow my Desert Eagle 44 or perhaps my custom sniper rifle? Going hunting or at least getting out into the field and blowing stuff up always helps me :D

Explaining Viper things to you
Kind of on fence with this. Maybe there's a reason for the non payment. There are times when you mother dies, your dog dies, and your house gets robbed all in the same week you get your new wires from ab.

I think we should send the guy a sympathy card.

Now on the other side of this fence I'm on is the rednecky Dave we all know and love. Reveal his ID and let the hate mail begin.

I don't know what is happing to people these days. Twice this summer I built a set of headers for some one who needed them ASAP and there check never did show. Why would someone put you through all the work and never pay??? I never sent mine out but still was custom built for them.

Since Mr. big Mouth (Guy Castro) LOL! :) above spilled the beans let me explain. It's not really the money but the principle behind all of this.

SVS called me and said they needed a set of wires for their custom turbo set up. They where having some kind of tuning issue/customer issue (Not sure exactly what since it was not my business). I was told they needed them ASAP. I had to drop some of the other things that I had going on to help out this tuner. It appeared his custom wires where part of the cause of the problem if not the cause for his Viper set up. I got the custom lengths from SVS and went to work on them. I thought it was cool to have another tuner buying from me. I thought this might be a good time to get another honest review. If he didn't like them then he could throw them out and no harm no foul. I asked if he approved my wires to say something good about them and I would do this as a complimentary service whether I got a good review or bad review. Just wanted an honest review. So I was taking a chance of getting a bad review since I was not familiar with his set up he had on his viper. I was told he needed the wires ASAP and to have them over nighted to him. I said he would have to pick up the over night cost since I am a small operations and can't afford to take too much of a hit. He agreed. Shipping charge was $45...not a whole heck of allot of money but the time spent making them and getting them right was some money. I never got the shipping fees and asked a few times but no response was received. I decided to drop it and take it on the chin and chalk it up to me not being careful.

Fast-forward about a year later...I get notified that these wires are on ebay being sold with his coil over plug system. I emailed Ron and asked if I could close out my ticket. He replied back to me that I said I would cover the fees. I asked to see where I said that. Then he comes back to me and says scan in the UPS bill and show me proof. I replied back to him to keep the wires and enjoy them. End of story. I was really irked that I had to prove to him that I was telling the truth after all I did for him and even if he did pay me I am still in the hole, but that is okay I agreed to that route. I was warned about doing business with these guys but I like to give everyone a chance.

I was disappointed that a well known tuner is wanting me to jump through hoops after all I have done for him with a smile. I have never been once taken advantage of by any Viper owner and I am like Chuck Tator..I send stuff out at times BEFORE PAYMENT because i trust the crowd I am in. I still do and won't let this ruin my way I do business. 99.9% of the time I have a good experience with the Viper family. I really don't make allot of money doing this and I try to give back to the community as much as possible to help the business grow for the future. I just don't like it when a man doesn't follow through. I will always follow through even if I take it on the chin!

So that is the story.

Adam "On the Chin"
Has nothing with being Asian. (Did I get the Asian man deal? LOL! ...old joke....some of the old OG's on here may remember this).

It's good to hear that it wasn't a member but it doesn't surprise me one bit that it was SVS. They have a long history of stiffing people, customers, etc....

Not to blame you at all but you should have had some red flags pop up when they requested. At least the spidey senses should have buzzed a little. :D

Heck of a scenario. It's never fun. In my job I sometimes have the opportunity to assist people with their bills by splitting the semantics of how we charge. You'd be amazed at how many people, even when you're giving them a spare thousand or so per month still want to push to get more out of you. It really is a buzzkill for your good will. I had one problem last year where some folks tried to push us for $15k that was clearly owed by an estate. Several months of statements, delays, lies, bad press. It did end in our favor, but only after legal intervention.:dunno:

All I have ever heard about SVS has been bad. I'd chalk it up to being a nice guy and being taken advantage of....it happens. I'd hate to have SVS's karma.

I was one of the "send me a cheque" guys that got his wires before YOU got my cheque. It was much more convenient that way. Thanks.

SVS built an engine in a Venom that I wanted to buy. After more than a week I found out that the car would only idle when COLD. It stunk and stalled when warm. I explained that the new engine was being destroyed by running that fat and after tens of thousand of dollars SVS should be happy to tune the car so it would run properly and not ruin the engine with the bad a/f mixture. Short story ... I didn't buy that car.

Karma will be paid!

That ***** Adam! They F-ed me on my T&D rockers as well. Didn't tell me the rocker stands were for a GEN3 for which I was under the impression I just bought T&Ds for a GEN2. I called them and let them know of their "mistake" and they just said "Oh well". I was just fortunate enough that Mike (99 R/T 10) had a set of GEN2s and he needed a set of GEN3s! So it all worked out, but still paid SVS good money for the wrong $hit!

All I have to say is Adam worked his butt off on my fuel rails and even sent me a second set because the first wasn't good enough for his standards!! Adam is one of the best guys around!

Oh yea...shameless plug for Adam!:D

Hmmmmmm

I have a Regional VCA Vendor / installer in WA who owes me almost $3800 for over 12 mos. TOTALLY lied about paying me as soon as he got paid, etc, etc etc. Two others in TN and CA that owe $200 each......well known guys! My fault for being trusting and gullible........ I gotta sue someone for $4000 while he's still getting lots of VCA biz !

They know who they are, and naming them here due to my gullibility?
