Next Sunday a few locals are planning to make a visit/mini-cruise
to Dover Air Force Base's Air Mobility Command Museum. This is
just kind of a put-faces-to-names type of event, nothing special,
but in the off chance I missed inviting someone I figured I would
post here. The plan is to meet up at the base at 11:00am and
maybe head into town for some lunch. This will be a weather
permitting gathering since we're hoping everyone brings their car.

Admission to the Museum is free, but they ask that groups of 10
or more to schedule a tour guide. They also ask for donations to
offset the costs of maintaining and restoring the aircraft. I know
they have a B-17 (featured on Military Channel's "Great Planes")
and two F-106 Delta Darts, but I believe the majority of planes
deal with the logistics/cargo side of combat.

If you would like to join please post here or email me that way I
can see if we have enough people to request a guide.

Brian,

Sent out a message with information to membership email server. I would be there, but we are having the postponed Western MD Cruise on the same day.

John - thank you!

I have a pile of "maybes" sitting in my inbox as of right
now. Our event is non-committal so anyone interested
is welcome - its a free open event at a public building,
chances are the crowds will be very light.

Air Mobility Command Museum - Dover AFB Delaware - Home

The Museum is located on the south corner of Dover Air
Force Base - traveling either north or south on Rt1 exit
north on Rt9 (they just finished a new overpass here.)
There are countless brown attraction signs to follow.

Four vipers ended up showing for the Museum tour - not record
shattering attendance by any means, but it was far more
entertaining than even I hoped it would be. The museum curator
Jim Leech <sp?> opened the field for our little entourage and we
got the chance to pose by/under a number of the aircraft. My
camera glitched on me so I only got a few shots - Dom took
several thousand pics :D so I'm sure he can **** a few good
ones out to share. Pictured below is the four of us in the shade
of the Musuems' C-133 Cargomaster.
