Thanks guys... Actually I do have a store a few miles from work and yesterday was the first time I was in one of their brick and mortars... Very cool place... Sort of a candy store for gear heads... I wound up picking up a few things I needed and a few I didn't. I was thrilled to get an impact grade socket adapter set for $4. I really just needed to go from 1/2 to 3/4 drive so I can use my electric impact gun with my 3/4 drive sockets and I got 3 different adapters. I bought a reciprocating saw and a few other things. Their stuff seems great for occasional use but I would probably shop elsewhere for commercial grade stuff. They didn't have the orange jack in stock but they are getting some in. I saw the aluminum jack too but the reviews were sketchy and it doesn't go high enough for my offroad toys.

I got this one a few months ago for my '01 and have been satisfied with it. The blue racing jack in the other post wasn't low enough to easily go under my front frame (wanted to leave a little margin in case the tire was flat).

I have the 3000 pound jack. It feels very scary every time I lift with it.
So I purchased the 4000 pound rapid pump Jack #92782. This is a SWEET! Jack

I have used the regular-height (not low-profile) version of that Harbor Freight jack for years with ZERO trouble. I keep the gears greased and dirt away from the piston and it still has a nice touch when letting the car down slowly. Some floor jacks are either on or off when you try to let the car down.

They used to carry a different jack. It was a low profile 4000 pound, rapid lift. You could go to maximum lift in like 4 pumps. It was blue with a silver handle. Very light and easy to carry around. It feels sturdy. I have it and like it. Only problem is the rubber pad came off. It has a square pad instead of round and handles on the side of the jack.

I have a Crewline from Costco, I think Sam's Club sells them too. Weighs less than 40lbs which is important when lugging it around from track to track. Low profile 3 1/4

So I wound up getting the 2 ton low profile orange steel jack. It's seems ideal for the Viper and my offroad stuff. The range is awesome...

Height range: 2-7/8" min. - 20-1/16" max.

That Harbor freight store is bad news though... Every time I go oin there I buy all this stuff that I have no immediate use for but just can't live without for some reason...

Like a 3 foot long pipe wrench You never know when I may need to screw a telephone pole into the ground or if i go Ghetto someday I can always open up the fire hydrant on the real hot days... or clamps that lock down on something almost a full foot from the edge... How did I ever get by without them...

The store was packed and I got caught up in some sort of frenzy and started buying stuff that I already have just so I can have it in two different places in the garage to make it easier to find... I can't wait to see how this 3 foot long pipe wrench is going to look on a bicycle hook in my garage...

I just got home from there. Ended up buying the aluminum jack they had on sale for $129. It goes to from under 3.5" to just over 18". Then I bought a little more. 4 jack stands, all 3 sizes of torque wrenches, some new air tool accessories, socket organizers, basically just too much crap!

I have two motorcycle jacks and wouldn't use them to lift a car... I think they are both rated at 1,500 lbs but that seems generous... I think one is a craftsman and one is a Torin... The 2 ton low profile Harbor Freight jack I picked up seems to be very high quality.

I have two of the 59.99 small aluminum Harbor Freight jacks. The frame on one sometimes twists enough when lifting as to scare the heck out of me. I would never, never, let the car sit only on this jack, whether I was under it or not. Even if I'm just swapping a tire I'd use jack stands or a second jack. Darn things are too flimsy.

I have had all kinds of jacks over the years... ironically, the HF one are the only ones I CANT kill! Snap on, Craftsman, etc... I get 2 years tops. HF going on 6 years, and *just* starting to leak a bit.
