Kept finding very small puddles on the garage floor and today --- a stream of oil running down the floor. Put it on the lift and noticed that oil was dripping on the top of the oil filter and the adjacent frame. Traced it to one of two metal oil lines that connected to the engine. The "nut" portion of the line was wet with oil, along with a strange little plastic cap the seemed to cover the threads of the stud to which the nut was attached. Anbody know what that cap is all about? It sure wasn't very secure to the threads -- it simply pushed on.

Put a big wrench on the nut and tightened 1/8th turn. Seemed tight enough as it was, but is tighter now. Not sure this will fix it.

If anyone else has noticed oil directly under the filter, you might have the same problem.

These are the oil cooler lines the plastic cap is covering the quick connect fitting to help keep debris out.Did tighting the fitting stop the leak?

Did someone maybe thread on a compression fitting female end, on top of a dust cap? If so, remove hose, (catch oil in pan), clean debris from all threads, re-install hose, refill oil. If its not a compression fitting, but rather NPT threads only, you may need teflon tape.

Lotta help I am. I don't have an SRT...
