I got this Momo shift knob last week and got it installed today. It lowers the stock height so hopefully it will help make shifting smoother / easier. It also adds a touch of yellow to the interior without being too obnoxious.

MGW makes a nice Viper-Specific Billet Short Alum knob with a YELLOW VIPER EMBLEM atop it, Your Pete or even Fangs. In my opinion might look 'better' with your tan interior........$84 at MGW LTD., INC. - CNC Machined and Turned Parts. Accessories for the Corvette, Mustang, and Viper

Hey Jon thanks for the tip!

So far I've only gotten to look at this one. If it doesn't feel good shifting I'm going to switch to the MGW knob because it does look cool with the logo.

lol these things happen Stretch.... It's always fun to try and make something work with having a little fun with your Viper, but sometimes it doesn't always turn out to make "everyone else" happy. However if it makes YOU happy, then do as you wish. But yea, most of us here have done things that may not turn out as good as we thought. You're being a good sport, so just laugh along and keep on shifting! You can probably get the MGW and ebay the other one with no problem.

Looks like we need to do some touch-up on your interior, Stretch. :)
That sill plate shouldn't be lifting like that.

I like the idea of yellow accents, but that Momo knob is closer to a nono.
I'm voting for the MGW as well. :D

Don't worry Frog it's all good. I can take the teasing with the best of them :2tu: Clearly MGW was the popular choice (and it even comes in yellow) but I was just trying something different.

If this one doesn't work out I'll just get out the crow bar and pop it back off. I only used a half a tube of super glue so a little leverage is all it'll take :D

Yeah I need to fix the sill plate but didn't have the supplies today. The lower velcro looking piece under that part is not attached anymore. Once I re-attach it that sill should be as good as new. I'm thinking a little glue maybe?? Haven't done any research yet but I'm open to suggestions.

Yea, it's the little plastic velcro squares that come un glued. I wonder if some other typical velcro from Wals Marts would work? I don't see why not?

That's a good idea for some fresh adhesive. My only other idea so far was to try to use a little super glue on the square that popped off, just didn't have any this afternoon when I had it torn apart.

Some of that "Liquid Nails" clear glue works GOOOOOD for small projects that you plan on leaving alone, unless "totally necessary to take apart". I use Liquid Nails to glue my Radar Detectors on the dash boards of most of my cars and it can be removed fairly easily when necessary, with a little effort. Anyhoo, if you plan on tacking it down and pretty much leaving it alone, then glue it down and I recommend the clear Liquid nails. but if you're like me, and will be tearing stuff apart all the time, then I would find a way to make some Velcro work.

Stretch, if YOU like it, that's all that matters! You have a 1 of 1 now, think of it that way~~!
I will have to agree though, with the tan interior, LESS is more when it comes to YELLOW. The MGW first-strike knob would be my choice here...but AGAIN, it's YOUR car, whatever YOU like is what YOU should do~!!! Where are the Margarita emblems? :eater: ENJOY~~HECK, you finally GOT your Dream Car, right?!!!! :drive::drive: ~juli

Explaining Viper things to you
For the Velcro I bought adhesive backed squares from McMaster Carr and have had no troubles since. Same spot on my '01. No messy glues. No getting high from glue fumes and buying yellow appointed goods for your tan interior car.

Don't worry I wasn't planning to glue the dash down, just re-glue that little square velcro piece. That way when the dash is put back into place that section of the dash can be held down by the velcro as intended.

Anyone know where I can get a margarita shift knob???? Maybe that will go over better with the tan interior.

Don't listen to it Stretch. It DOES matter what we think. We will arrange for an intervention if this sort of "ricer" behavior continues. After all its not your best interest or feelings we are concerned about here, only the car. :nono:

I got to say I almost like that wheel. If I had a 97 Honda Civic I would so have to have it.

I've always enjoyed the tan leather interior on the Gen I RT/10s. Has anybody got a picture of the tan interior on the '97 RT/10 with gold package? Tan seats, shift knob, parking brake, steering wheel?

OK. Sorry for the late arrival.;) The YELLOW ROCKS cavalry has arrived!!:headbang:

1st off Stretch, I did not realize you interior was Tan! I LOVE the tan interior! Nice choice dude!:2tu:

Now the nob. I have to say I don't mind it. Then again I have been known to lack in the color coordination dept, but I still like it!

Regardless of what everyone says, it is your car and if it makes you happy, this is all that matters! Period. I am sure if there was a pic of the car zoomed out so the body could be seen with the nob as opposed to just the nob and interior, all would find it a little more attractive than they are currently imagining.

Just my 3 cents.

Oh yeah, I do not know where to get a Margarita cap.:(
