    Enclosed trailers

A regular, non-aluminum enclosed trailer is probably a little too much for a Dakota. Even with a 1/2 ton Ram you'll need to use an equalizer hitch. An aluminum trailer like the Trailex and Featherlite will save you some weight, but, of course, they cost considerably more. When towing, weight...

    5th ANNUAL VA/MD MERRY HISS-MAS PARTY SAT. DEC 16TH

Lee Stubberfield has put this event together every year for the past five. After the Crab Feast Cruise, it is our most popular event. Thanks, Lee, for another great event!

I am going to try to join you all at Prego's. What time will you all be arriving there?

    In car track timers

I'm running a Neon SRT-4 at Viper Days. I'm using the magnetic mount on the roof. However, you probably can put the GPS antenna (looks like an XM antenna) anywhere it's got a shot at the sky. When I say "nearly the same", I mean within a couple hundredths of a second. The first time you use...

    In car track timers

One of the neatest products is TraqMate, which uses GPS to follow you around the track. It's self-contained and gives you segment times and quite a bit more. A Hot Lap timer is going to cost you around $220-250, and you'll have to set up a transmitter. The TraqMate is about $900-1000, but it...

Sept. R&T comparison picks Viper over Z06 for track ability

Times have changed. In the old days (1997-1999) the Viper would smoke the competition in the hard numbers, and the writers subjectively would always pick some other (slower) car.

Tying a Viper down on a trailer - advise?

If you hook the tow straps into the holes in the frame, you will eventually stretch out those holes. There is a small hook available called an R-hook which is designed to go in the slot and to which the tow strap attaches. These hooks are available from most of the internet two strap vendors...

    SRT Purchase questions

There are lots of deals available on leftover 2005 convertibles. Check around. If your heart is set on a blue 2006, that's a real good choice: the production numbers in that color are around 84 or so. (They also look great!) It might be difficult to get a smoking deal on that particular...

    Stupid mistakes!!!

The "self-inflicted wound" is definitely the most aggravating.

Traffic-avoiding directions to Carlisle Fairgrounds for All-Chrysler Show

In another thread, Floorin04 advises that if you're coming up from the south, you might want to avoid US-15 and the Gettysburg area in particular. There's a Civil War reenactment and Bike Week going on in Gettysburg. From Frederick, MD, just take I-70 west to I-81 and follow I-81 north to...

    VA-MD VCA Convoy to Carlisle

The Virginia-Maryland VCA Convoy to Carlisle will meet at 6:15 am Saturday, July 8, at the Park-n-Ride at the Urbana-Buckeystown exit off I-270, south of Frederick. We'll depart promptly at 6:35, and proceed north on I-270 to Frederick, then west on I-70 past Hagerstown, and then north on I-81...

Traffic-avoiding directions to Carlisle Fairgrounds for All-Chrysler Show

If you’re driving to Carlisle and plan to arrive anytime after 8:15 am on Saturday, be prepared to crawl through town in bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go traffic. Also, be advised that the Carlisle exit off the Pennsylvania Turnpike will back up miserably Saturday morning. Here are a couple of...

    Potential new Owner w/ questions...

Having logged 40K miles on a 97 GTS, and 30K on an 01 GTS, I can say that mechanically, the Gen II cars were basically trouble-free. On both cars I had one of the wiper motors crap out, and the 97 also had a failed 02 sensor, a broken driver's door hinge, and a broken driver's door...

All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle PA - Viper Luncheon

I am working with Carlisle Productions again this year on a T-shirt for VCA participants. I'll also send out an email to Va-Md members urging them to preregister.

Viper Days Mid-Ohio SRT/10's are welcome

Re: Viper Days Mid-Ohio SRT/10\'s are welcome If you've never done a Viper Days event, this special pricing is a great opportunity to drive one of America's best tracks (and newly-paved, at that!) at an absolutely ridiculous price. I will be there in my SRT-4. :2tu:

    MY NEW COUPE!

George, it looks great! I saw a naked copperhead coupe last weekend at a dealer at Tysons Corner, and I thought then that the coupe needed stripes. Your car confirms that impression. That's a new truck, too, isn't it? See you tomorrow!

The Viper SRT-10: Obnoxious and irresistible

Unlike 99% of the automotive writers, Warren Brown apparently "gets it." How rare to find an automotive journalist who knows his limitations!

    Washington Post piece on Viper

"A man's got to know his limitations." (Dirty Harry Callahan) Apparently Warren Brown (the author of the article) knows his: "I parked the Accord, dropped it quicker than a hot-blooded teenager dumping a dull date. I didn't want the wholesome girl next door. I wanted action. I wanted to...

    Does this sound expensive?

Not to start anything with Zen, but an hour and a half sounds a little optimistic on snap-together flooring. I installed RaceDeck in my 576 sq ft garage and it took me about 8-10 hours. Maybe someone younger and more experienced could shave a few hours off the task. I had to trim all the side...

Welcome back to the Viper fold, Jody! The Copperhead is an excellent choice. Hope to see you at an event soon.

too SRT or not to SRT?????

You've discovered what many other Gen II-to-Gen III converts have learned: the SRT is just a better car in every facet (except styling), and it's not like it doesn't attract attention. I made a similar decision last May, and I don't regret it for an instant. Do it!
