The newest trend is sending fake Ebay "invoices" after you corospond w/ the scammer. I've baited a few scammers as of late w/ Supra stuff... they're definitely getting better than the old "You send money now, 5999!" emails I used to get LOL
Re: Embarrassing Moments - drag racing
My battery died at the gas station, leaving me stranded. Kinda funny, we had to push the viper back from the pumps into a parking slot. I bet the station did more business for that hour than normal though heh.
Re: It\'s official, NO MORE PRICE GOUGING AT THE PUMPS
I got stuck in Atlanta when the news of the shortage hit. Gas went from 2.31 that morning (home) to 3.20 (87oct) by 5pm in Atlanta w/ looonnngg lines. Many pumps shut down. By the time we finally got out of atlanta after filling up, I was...
AEM is a full replacement ECU, not a piggyback. However, I am unfamiliar with emissions testing/inspection proceedure. They read the VIN and codes from the ECU via the ASDL plug? Strange...for what purpose?
The 2 LIE computers are essentially 6cyl ECU's correct? Each bank is treated like a 2.8L I6. Are they MAP based?
I don't know who has decoded the memcals (if anyone?) but aftermarket would be a very good bet. It's all in the tune man...you can have a completely stock idle and driving...
Resurecting a slightly old thread :)
Great work Paolo! I love PTE's equipment. What size injectors are you currently using in the DIY kit? I'm guessing by the spec these are TE44's (or SC series since it's a T4 flange heh), which are very good turbos for the money.
Do you have pricing plans...
I used to take my RT to a local oil change shop (not a chain). I would go down into the pit and show the tech how to remove/replace the filter, and watch them work. They treated the car like it was made of gold. The owner would always come out to talk to me, real nice guy. All of his workers...
I'm guessing it's the weather. There has been a downward trend in all viper prices, but gen1/2 has definetly slowed. 93-95 prices have held pretty steddy, early cars are almost rediculously priced sometimes. The 1.5's are still the black sheep of the family, and tend to bring lower than their...
How did you get the housing to clear the intake manifold with it still in place!? Were you able to get the T-stat inplace w/o removing the housing completely from the engine bay first? Either way, more power to ya Steve :)
I ended up removing the intake manifold when I did mine. It wasn't...
Refresh my memory... how many speakers are there in a gen2 RT/10? Pair for the doors (6.5s? and tweets, but they aren't component speakers) and a sub somewhere... is that it?
If you absolutely want to keep the original harness intact, then you'll need to make a fields harness to adapt the new...
One of the lamborghini guys was telling me about some place up in NC (I think) where they do top speed runs. I think he used to use a Jag, but is now prepping a countach for the run.
Oh, and Area51 needs runways for planes to land with crews/parts/top officials/etc ;)
Resin infusion produces some excellent results. I don't touch wet layups anymore, just too much of a pain to get right. I'll also let you guys in on a little secret...
Coat your mold with your relese agent, then spray on a 50/50 mix of Duratec clear coat (surfacer) and clear gelcoat. The...
Re: Don\'t buy this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Slightly OT...
The diablo did not have a name. The official list only had the Lambo LM, which was named Gina.
:)
If you ever just want to talk composites, lemme know. I don't do much anymore, as I have another company in it's infancy to deal with now. But, I still make stuff from time to time for my personal cars and a few friends.

Like it's been said, carbon is a cloth. There are many varieties of carbon based on the application needed. Different thicknesses and weaves are available depending on what you need. Carbon is similar to any other composite, as it gets it's strength from the bonding of fiber and resin (under...
I think they're trying to lowball me on this one. The estimate for the rest of the paint work is looowww. Things like the headlights, they have listed "cleaning". I highly doubt you can polish out these marks, the're etched into the plastic pretty deep. Imagine spraying aircraft striper on...
They're going to be pissed when they learn what OEM costs are on new supra sealed headlights LOL.
As for the PD report, I originaly didn't realize that the damage was beyond the side scrape. As I was on the phone and doing the inspection, I started finding and documenting things :(
I didn't understand it either. My claims agent said that because something hit the car, it's considered collision. Everything else, comp. I'm still fighting them.
The claims adjustor came out today to look at the door only. I don't like the guy, he was like "yeah, that was probably there...
