Sean, please update us on Gen-I S/C progress

Since you baited us on the Gen-I upcoming preview, I get a feeling that soom, of the Gen-I crowd, have been chomping at the bits. Break off some more crumbs, to appease us. Pics would be great.

My experience with increasing crankcase vacuum...Not Good

Hypothetically, increasing crankcase vacuum seemed to have only good things associated with it. So I hooked up 2 Krankvents(one way vents allowing air to exit but not enter crankcase) - one inline with PVC valve and the other in the vent hole normally vented to the breather. Not only did...

Has anyone with Gen-I motor relocated PCV valve for oil control?

I had a couple of mods in mind to limit my oil consumption - including the remote oil tank separator and Krankvents, but while waiting for the items to be shipped, I noticed that under the PCV valve - the oil baffle was holding a lot of oil on the top - right below the PCV valve. So the...

Any experience with the new NOS TPS progressive Nitrous switch

I noticed that NOS has a new TPS controlled progressive nitrous actuator that hooks up to the TPS sensor. On the Holley website - it states that it can be used with any motor that has a 0-5 volt TPS sensor and it begins nitrous flow at 2.5volts and increases flow until 5 volt WOT. Sounds like a...

Chance of spark induction with parallel arrangement of wires?

I need to organize my spark plug wires, but am not sure if the Viper motor has any prior history of certain wires more prone to spark induction. Is there a certain layout that is more safe, or is any arrangement ok?

    Questions on Viper PCM signals??

I picked up a Jacobs NOS controller(NMM) - It is sold as V-8 specific - and is advertised to be used as an integrated ignition unit with timing control. I just wanted it for its ability to control the NOS as a RPM function(it pulses the solenoids to meter NOS and fuel, and has adjustable A/F...

think a viper spec t-56 can hold 950 rear wheel foot pounds?

There are a few DLM S/C cars that have that type of power, and they haven't had any transmission trouble as far as I know of. Since your car is a lot lighter than the Viper, I don't think you would have any problem.

    Mounted switch panels - photos?

I need to install a switch panel (4-6 switches) - anyone have pictures or suggestions on brand and location for mounting.

HP vs HMS - Macedo brokers a settlement

Larry Macedo with MacedoMS, e-mailed me with a proposed settlement solution, where John Hennessey will drop off my Viper parts this weekend, and Larry will inspect them and drop-ship them to me. I will confirm this with a post, when I receive the parts next week. I apologize if my earlier...

    HMS Promo event in Orlando

All Viper owners should take a stand, and stay away from the HMS promotional event in Orlando. It's just the right thing to do. Put a stop to John Hennessey, and anyone that promotes him. Then we can end the questions - "How does he stay in business?" ****Sorry Scott(Vipermed) - I guess I...

    TUNERS - HIGH HP/TQ & BLOCK STRENGTH???

Devildog, you're scaring me; these questions have actually bounced around in my mind before. Did the weight reduction from GEN-I to GEN-2, have any relevance to flex of the block? Aside from sleeve shift of GEN-I, which motor is best suited for stroking. Other than strengthening the maincaps...

    Who has ported heads?

You could do a search and find more answers than you have questions. There was a thread a few days back on a set of heads by Greg Good, for a S/C setup. If you're planning on going the S/C route later, then you don't want the heads milled, but if you're staying NA, it would be worth a few...

    Broken rings??

Reading your post, I'm curious also, and will add a few questions. How do you make a diagnosis of broken rings without pulling the heads? - is there not other damage that could reflect 30lb difference. Wouldn't it be appropriate to go ahead and pull the heads for a more accurate diagnosis...

    overheat/service engine soon!

Luis, it must be Sat, because all the real experts are out, so I'll try to help you. First, run through the engine trouble codes, write them down, and try to sort out the possibilities. I don't have a manual around, so I'm pulling from memory. Since the fan did eventually come on, it means that...

Installed new circuit &switch for fan Hi-speed

In the past I had posted a problem(apparently only I have) with the fan circuit overheating when the hi-speed fan relay kicks in. Before the 99 fan was installed I had no problem, with circuit, or car overheating(Just thought it was a good upgrade). On my car instead of a fusible link, someone...

    I-40 route to VOI?

I was wondering how many plan to take I-40 through Arkansas to get to Memphis/Nashville. How about the North Texas group? Which route is going to assemble the largest caravan?

harley V rod calling me out !!!!!!

Take his money, he wouldn't have a chance. Heavy bike + only 100HP. - this is not a bike to take to the local drags. Also, rider weight(and height-resistance) is a much larger factor, than a car. His weight handicap would be like you going to the drag strip with a car load of friends riding in...

Drag Racing tips needed for Saturday......Rookie here

Even searching the subject, you may come away confused. But a starting point(compromise), which would generally be 'accepted' by all, would be 5lb more in front, and 5lb less in rear(in the burn-out, temp. rise will more than make up for loss). Beyond that, there is a lot of disagreement, and...

VOI drags - showcase for traction secrets?

With all the hype about who's got the fastest car and who's the best driver, I expect there is a lot of R & D going on right now. For many, power and reaction time, is not the question, so I think the fine tuning will be in the suspension department. Could this mean we will see some lift-kits...

"Calling Out 1BADGTS to the VOI Drags...Where he can WATCH Evan drive his car against all the people

Re: \"Calling Out 1BADGTS to the VOI Drags...Where he can WATCH Evan drive his car against all the people he has challenged!!\" I was undecided about going to VOI, but if there is a match-up between 01GTS and 1BADGTS I'll definitely be there. If this is a publicity stunt to sell more...

Houston Club still promotes Hennessey, Why?

Why does the Houston Viper Club still promote HMS? When you go to their web-site, Hennessey advertisements are plastered across the screen. It's like one big promo for John Hennessey. I would hope their locked into a contract and can't get out, legally, rather than actually trying to solicit...
