If it's not the plugs or wires, it's probably the oxygen sensors. You can tell when these are going bad because the car will miss only under acceleration.
The only place you want to go for Viper service in Michigan is Dick Scott Dodge in Plymouth: http://www.dickscottdodge.com/Department-Service.aspx
This is where most Viper owners take their Vipers for service in lower Mich. I drive all the way from Saginaw to go there. It only takes one bad...
Put mine away yesterday - winter is finally here in Michigan. They use way too much salt on the roads here to even consider driving a Viper in the winter. Even if the roads are clear of ice and snow, they are covered with salt. My red RT/10 would be white after a spin around the block, and...
This has probably been one of the worst summers in Michigan in years. Early summer was nice, but the second half of August and all of Sept & Oct have been terrible. Put less than 500 miles on the Viper this year.
This is the 3rd year I've owned my Viper - 1st year put on 3,000 miles, 2nd year 2,500 miles, and only 500 miles this year. I'm in Michigan - so the weather plays a big factor - and the second half of our summer sucked bad! Plus I live in Saginaw (which is worse than Detroit) - so you have to...
I'm looking for a 1/12 scale red Gen 1 RT/10 - doesn't really matter the maker as long as it's in excellent condition. Completing my new office in Viper decor - and having an open house Sept 28 - so shipping time is an issue - but I'm willing to pay for expedited shipping. If anyone has one...
A couple of weeks ago I seen this on a little Saturn coupe: VPR KLR
I wish I had a camera with me. Hopefully this plate was transferred from something else!
Re: What\'s the weirdest comment you\'ve heard?
You obviously don't live in the rural Midwest then. I've pulled a lot more women in my pickup than with my Viper. Most women around here are concerned more about eating and landscaper type guys who drive beat up trucks!
Good luck with Progressive - I had one claim with them after several years (not my fault) and my car, boat, and house insurance all doubled. But I just got a letter in the mail last week about a class action lawsuit against Progressive for insurance fraud/overcharging clients - they deserve it...
I think you mean Belanger headers/exhaust - which is loud. I don't think any one year is worse than another, it's all in how the car was maintained. These cars require more regular maintenance than most other newer cars. Make sure all the fluids have been changed regularly. Other things that...
Re: What\'s the weirdest comment you\'ve heard?
Funny - I got a similar comment just last week. Took my car out to a bar, and before I could even park it, two cougars were trying to open the door, asking for a ride. The one cougar volunteered to ride on the stickshift (but she only ended up...
Re: Roe High Flow 3
I also have chambered mufflers and no cats, from Classic Chambered Exhaust: http://www.classicchambered.com/. At cruising speed it has a nice low rumble, but get on it and watch out! Many people have said it's one of the best sounding Vipers they have heard (sorry, no...
Re: Just bought my first RAT/10!
Try a search here regarding air filters - many owners have had problems with K&N fitting good. Many of us have S&B filters - they fit right in without any problems.
Re: Just bought my first RAT/10!
Congrats! Only 3,000 miles on a '94? Vipers like that are getting hard to come across. Remember, it's still a 12 year old car, if it has the original tires - get rid of them. Also, all of the fluids probably need changing.
Enjoy - it's hard not to with a...
Well, for the two plus years I've owned my Viper, people have always asked me "why don't you take your Viper out anywhere?" I happen to live in a blue collar auto town where there aren't a lot of safe bars/restaurants/stores to leave it unattended period. Now I have proof!
Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later. Checked out a new local restaurant this weekend at night. My car was even parked out in front along the city street. Came out and saw about a nine inch gouge in the hood as it curves into the driver's side fender. Got some touch up paint and...
I've tried Pinnacle Sovereign and Meguiars NXT wax next to each other on my red '95, and there is no comparison. Pinnacle is much deeper and reflective. I think the key is proper prepping of the car first - then any good pure carnuaba wax should give a better finish than a liquid polish/wax...
It is normal. My fan normal kicks on between 215 and 220. When it's really hot out and I'm at a stop light, I usually turn on the air conditioning to keep the temp down - because the fan automatically runs when the air is on.
I drive all the way from Saginaw to Dick Scott Dodge in Plymouth for service if that tells you anything.
Yes, change all the fluids ASAP. Also spark plugs, wires, O2 sensors, and do a throttle body sync. When you get done, it will feel like you gained about 50 HP!
