I love mine too - they're well worth $400. I'd probably buy one again even if they raised the price to $600! Other detectors just don't compare to the V1 in real world use.
Re: What\'s up with this ACR?
I think the eBay auction is legitimate and the autotrader ad is the scam. The scammer just stole that image from the eBay auction.
Yeah, but that's tough advice because it rules out buying virtually everything. I'm looking at gen II's for my first Viper and would LOVE to buy a Maxcare with it. But it seems like only 1-2% of the gen II's on the market have Maxcares that were purchased by the previous owner.
And it sounds...

Are there any *advantages* to having the creampuff/cast pistons of the 2000 and later models? I know the well documented disadvantages (they're weaker and less capable of handling forced induction, NOS, etc.) But assuming you want to keep the car stock, is there anything preferable about them...
A couple of questions about hood alignment on a gen II.
Take this car for example - a 99 ACR with 25k miles:

Yeah, I just read back through my recent comments and you're right. I definitely see how it could be annoying/tiresome coming from someone who doesn't own the car and is trying to find a good deal on their first one. I'll just shut up about it.
It's not astounding. It's a public forum and people are posting their honest opinion, like you just did. :)
IMO some people would probably say "I hope he gets his price!" regardless of the price. You could add another $5k or $10k onto the asking price and they'd still have the same...
Yeah ViperJon, I am thinking the same thing. No doubt this is a VERY clean car, but $55k for a 98 with 20k miles is well above market value.
Last week a fellow VCA member sold a very clean Red 98 with only 15k miles AND a full 4 year DC extended warranty for only $44k.
Re: Good friend needs to move \'02 GTS.
I think people have different ways of interpreting the phrase "clean title." To some it means the car has no accident history, and to others it means the car may have been in an accident but it doesn't have a Salvage/Rebuilt title.
Re: Good friend needs to move \'02 GTS.
I have some more information about the car.
At this point, I'd say the condition of the title is suspect. CarFax shows a frontal impact (with a parked car) in Florida with moderate to severe damage. According to CarFax, the title is clean - but it's...
