I don't know that there is such a place. However, I think you could check www.btrviper.com Tom may have some of his cars on there. IMHO your going to have about 3 classes:

1. Sir Hiss - This guy is totally insane running mid to low 8's at about 170mph
2. Hennessey classes www.hennesseymotorsports.com - This is the guy you hear about alot with the Venom 650 etc. However, I don't think he builds them for drag racing (mostly for track racing). I've heard that these cars run in the high 10's don't know the mph.
3. Welch/other tuner classes - Tom Welch (BTRVIPER) sells a neat package (headers, exhust, N2O) and promise 10's in the 130's (I think that is on et streets)

Others are just headers/exhust which fall in the mid to low 11's. Now if there was a top 25 I think you would see something like...Sir Hiss, Doug Levin, TNT/Hennessey http://www.tntvipers.com/, others. I know there are some twin turbo Vipers http://www.supervipersystems.com out there but don't know much about them. Sorry if this was not what you were looking for. If I posted incorrect numbers I'm sorry in advance to tuners.

A thread similar to this went on FOREVER on the old board. Got real old, real quick. Once again, this is a VIPER BOARD. For Viper enthusiasts. Please spew antiviper crap on your board, please.
Thanks

You are right. It wasn't much of a war. More of a whining contest. Can't remember exactly when it was. Good luck getting the original info you wanted.

TD..Here is my take. Yes, the stock Viper is 450hp if people modify they usually do Headers, Exhust, Smooth tubes and Air Filters. I would say that is 85+% of the people that modify. Another 5% do N20 and the rest get crazy, supercharger (which is about 15 to 20k), Venom Package (which is about 20 - 50+k) or Twin Turbo (which is about 60+k) so I think what I'm trying to say as well as others (but with more attitude than I) is:
1. Since there are so few Vipers that modify there will NOT be that much difference in 1/4 times (so no use in Top 25)
2. I as many others DON'T think the Viper is made for 1/4 times it was/is made more to be a track race car (that's why the original Viper did NOT have ABS, if my memory serves me correct).
3. Mod's for these car (since they are v10) are STUPID outragous, we can not "throw" a TT on our car for under 5k (I'm not sure of that pricing and don't mean harm).

With that said when it came time for me to decide if I wanted to take the TT dip on the Viper I purchased a Prowler, Hayabusa, ZX12-R AND still had enough to put down on a HD and am VERY happy.

I don't think you will find the Top 25 but do wish you luck.

Regards

Heres your link to the supra flame - Read it then take a hike! Trying to compare a supra to a Viper.... You are the one with the inferiority complex, and well founded. Even an attempt at this futility proves that you just don't get it.

SIGH
I apologize for my Supra brethren. Let me add a few facts into this discussion:

(1) The Supra has good brakes for a street car, but they're far from "top of the heap". Take one on a roadracing circuit (I have) and they'll fade in two laps. Viper brakes through '00 were worse in 60-0 (no ABS) but better on the track, although still insufficient for real roadracing. The '01 ABS Vipers will out-stop a Supra at any speed (less weight, bigger brakes, bigger tires, better weight distribution).
(2) Supra engines do indeed stand up to immense amounts of power & abuse. So do Viper engines. The only MKIV Supra engines I've heard of people grenading were with faulty NOS systems or lean conditions with too much boost. MKIII Supras were notorious for blowing their head gaskets, and Toyota wouldn't pay to have them fixed out of warranty. Viper engine problems seem to fall into two main categories: (1) oil starvation in '96 - '99 cars in long high-G corners, (2) head gasket problems in Gen-I cars which Dodge fixes gratis regardless of warranty coverage.

Ok, this isn't to start a flame war, rather to just point out a few things that have been said that are just wrong.

Clint's SC300TT is not a Supra, period. His engine is that of a Supra, and it's had *ZERO* problems @ 765rwhp. He's been having problems with his drive shaft, which is not a Supra drive shaft.

The fastest full interior, ac, etc Supra to date is 9.54 @ 144mph. www.sound-performance.com Not an ounce of weight reduction. There is another 9.83 second Supra here, full interior, stock block, stock rear end.

Trying to compare an '01 Viper to a '93 Supra is ridiculous. Compare '93 RT/10 to a '93 SupraTT - you'll get your fair comparison. This talk about "in '01 they'll have better brakes" and that sort is stupid, no offense.

There were a total of 6,900 Supra Twin Turbos sold in the USA from 1993-1998.

Conclusion

Each car has it's ups and downs, period. Who cares which one is "better"? I've driven both (I've actually driven more Vipers than I have SupraTTs) and I like the Supra. This is a Viper board where people are going to say the like their Vipers better. There is *nothing* wrong with that. A lot of people here don't like having their "king of the foodchain" status contested, and that's understandable. All I want is respect for my car, just like I respect yours. There's no need for debates or flames. I've stated the facts, Supras are fast on a road course and at the drag strip, and so are Vipers.

So can't we all just get a long?
