Oh now this is FUNNY, a post from today:

Lords of the Ring....ZR1/Z06 Nurburgring interview

In the November issue of Vette magazine, there's an exclusive interview with Tadge Juechter, Jim Mero, and David Caldwell where they talk about the recent Nurburgring runs by the ZR1 and Z06, and the how's and why's of the testing they do there.

An interesting read, and has answers to several of the ongoing questions regarding driver selection, preperation and scheduling, and what's involved in running the Nurburgring.

VetteWeb.com apparently doesn't have this current issue on line yet (it's listed under Lifestyle in the paper version).

Worth reading if you have interest in these "record" runs.

Wonder what else will be said in the November issue? LOL!

The really amazing thing is how a great car like the ZR1 took a mere two and a half seconds off the old Viper time, and this monster hammers 10 seconds off. What an amazing car and driving job.

Can't wait to hear who the driver was and all the details.

What's Lexus gonna do with the 50 uber limited edition overpriced Nurburgring edition LFAs now? They're gonna have to go straight to the used lots now

I love how the vette forum moved my thread to other cars :rolaugh: check mate:D

Crickets over there. More than one ZR-1 owner has busted my chops the last few months locally. I haven't been to the vette forum in years but just had to look. Funny stuff.

Congrats and thank you to Tomball and Dodge for making the effort with out of production cars instead of waiting for the Gen 5.

I got the stupidest smile on my face, while reading Marv's post. I almost want to celebrate like I did when the Mavs won the finals. :D

Congrats to Team SRT, Tomball Dodge, Mintgen Motorsports, and all involved!!!!

LOL...I still cant get over how on both 08 and 10 ACR respectively only took "HALF" a day at the Ring to set both records quite quickly and easily as compared to the countless days of prep and lapping spent by other mfg's to get there respective times. This ACR package is just plain nasty and a bargain compared to the heavy hitters its destroyed in both Ring records. I still think an 08 ACR would beat the ZR1 7:19 time given more prep/laps. Hats off to the ZR1 though. Who knows if this would have happened if GM didnt run the 2012 at the Ring to beat the old ACR number.
