Why are you sad, nothing wrong with an M1 Filter at all. Personally, I probably will never buy a Viper Filter again.
It doesn't say Viper on it though

Dont be. M1 and Wix XP filters are perfectly acceptableI am sad.
Did you mean WIX 51085XP Extended Performance, not Extreme Duty?WIX 51085XP XP Extreme Duty is definitely the way to go if you can't find Viper OEM
Yes Extreme PerformanceDid you mean WIX 51085XP Extended Performance, not Extreme Duty?
fyi Rock Auto has Mopar filters listed as back in
stock now, so I guess they got back to producing
them
It absolutely does. Guys like Tator, JonB, Sawyer, just because they are Viper Vendors does not really
meaning anything.
It absolutely does. Guys like Tator, JonB, Sawyer,
Savakinas, and Havik will all... at the VERY least
will physically look at the filters before they ship
them out. There is a good chance that the retailers
will have them shipped directly to you through
a network of people they dont even talk to.
Now if the manufacturer (Wix) is making cheap
filters there is nothing that can be done, but
avoiding the counterfeits starts with avoiding the
marketplaces that dont care if they exist or not...
Thats interesting because up until recently Mobil did notWe trust Mobil 1 Oil but not their filter?
So it wasn't until recently I switched over. I did some research and the pressure is near identical.Thats interesting because up until recently Mobil did not
recommend their filters for the Viper because of the Valve
Pressure being too low. It only changed about five years
ago. I am waiting for them to get back with me on
confirmation but they will not put into writing the M1-204
is a safe filter for the Viper V10. They will for the Magnum
V10 though. When the manufacture isnt confident , why
should i be?
Also the reason PVO didnt just use Mobil to begin with is
because they (the ones who designed the Motor) didnt feel
it was up to standard and Mobil would not make a custom
for Dodge - which is why they went to Wix in the first place.
