    A/C question

I live in West Palm Beach and in 90 - 95F heat the AC in my black 03 works great. I use recirculate mode and after it cools down inside I lower the fan speed to medium. No complaints.

2003 SRT- 10 any known issues?

I have had good luck with my 03 with 19K miles on it now. Both front shocks have been replaced in the past year due to leaking, but that's it! Go for it, you will love it.

Trunk Latch Question on 06' Coupe

On my 03 the trunk popping open when I pressed the release on the key fob. I would have to pull up on the trunk while pressing the release. When I was at the dealer for service I asked them to take a look at the trunk mechanism and whatever they did fixed the problem and it has worked properly...

Trunk Latch Question on 06' Coupe

My 03 trunk lid had stopped opening when I pressed the fob release. When I was in to the dealer for service I asked them to take a look and it has worked perfectly for over 9 months now. Did not ask what the fix was, maybe they just adjusted the rubber stops to provide a little more opening...

Do I keep the Viper ?

John, After having spent a day at the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction in West Palm this weekend, I would vote for you to keep the 66 or 67 whichever you like the most. Older cars are appreciating and if you have a nice one keep it. Next keep the Viper, of course! Good luck.

    Are these failures normal?????

My 03 with 19K miles has had the oil pan gasket and both front shocks replaced in the past year. I did just purchase the 7 year extended coverage warranty for everything after learning a front shock costs $925 plus installation. You can buy the extra warranty through year 4 after the inservice...

2005 Yellow SRT-10 deal to good to be true?

A dealer in West Plam Beach has an 05, never titled, with 300 miles on it and he wants $69.9K and a friend has tried to buy it for $65K and the dealer is holding firm. $62K is a good price. Go for it!!

    Transmission brake-in???

Could you describe the noise the transmission was making and did it stop if you pushed in on the cluch? I am chasing a noise in my 03 clutch or transmission. My rattle stops when I push in on the clutch and this is whether I am driving or sitting with the transmission out of gear. Replacing...

    Installed Green Filters Today....

Small world, but I installed Green filters yesterday and there is a 1/2" or so OD drain hole in the bottom of the air box. If it was not there you would be sucking water in a hard rain.

Curious - Why do you have your Viper?

I had muscle cars in the old days, a couple of Corvettes over time, the last one I had owned for 10 years and it was pretty tame. A friend who had a Viper decided to down size and I was there at the right time. Bought the Viper and sold the Corvette and could not be happier. Looks and...

    Clutch Question.........

Don, I have an 03 as well, and due to a noise problem (see my post today) I have been becoming knowldegable about our clutches. The clutch mechanism in our SRT's is completely hydraulic driven by the clutch master cylinder which actually engages and disengages the clutch via a slave cylinder...

    CLUTCH NOISE - NEED ADVISE

I have noticed a slight, but still noticable, rattle kind of a noise when the clutch is engaged which is most of the time. Admittedly is is slight but I can still hear it. When you push in on the clutch pedal the noise goes away. The dealer replaced the throw out bearing assembly yesterday...

Clutch & Flywheel Damage - Need Advise

Zorro, I did not get the word choice correct. The pressure plate OD and flywheel OD were dinghed, not the clutch. No oil excaped so the clutch is dry. Everything seems to be working fine so I will go back to the dealer and have them replace the oil pan bolt that came out and inspect the...

Clutch & Flywheel Damage - Need Advise

After the dealer replace the oil pan gasket to fix a minor leak, one of the oil pan bolts came out (wasn't torqued properly) at the back of the oil pan. This was several months after the oil pan fix. At about 35 mph I heard a sudden loud metal to metal noise and thought it was a bearing failure...

Looking for a decent SRT-10 in the low $50's. Possible?

Re: Looking for a decent SRT-10 in the low $50\'s. Possible? Jeff, Too bad you missed the 03 for $53. I think that was a deal, maybe. I bought an 03 7 months ago from a friend, but it had 17K miles, as he was a daily driver. The car had a year of warranty left and only had a few under body...

Cover Craft Form -Fit Indoor cover for 2006 Coupe ? anyone try one yet?

Bob, I did not buy the form fit cover only because I like a looser fitting cover. I figure the less contact with the paint the better due to putting the cover on and off and if you have a little dirt or grit on the car or imbedded in the cover then more scratches to deal with. I bought a...

    Repairing curb rash?

Andrew, I had curb rash on my 2 right wheels when I bought my car. The smaller of the 2 was approximatly 3 inch on my right front. I am familiar with polishing metal (metallurgical engineer) so decided to give it a try myself. The rash wasn't too bad but you could definitely see it. I used...

    Prospective SRTC - Ownership questions

Grant, I have owned a 03 SRT10 for 7 months now so you will get a fresh perspective, here goes. My 03 has an adjustable foot rest for your left foot. I use it all the time and like it. I try not to drive in the rain but when I do I take it easy for very obvious reasons. I think the turning...

Tire Update: Need a new Rim, more serious than expected

Your rim is an easy weld repair. A good place would be a custom wheel shop, and if one of those is not around then a boat yard that works on yachts. They do a lot of aluminum fabrication. Tom
